Nominations Open for 2023 Outstanding Book AWARD (CLOSED)

ELIGIBILITY:

Nominations should be single-authored or multi-authored collection of original work, including scholarly monographs and anthologies, published in 2022. All disciplines are welcomed. Re-editions will not be considered. Nominations must be scholarly original research focused on Chicanx/Latinx in Higher Education or Chicanx/Latinx Studies (i.e. research including Hispanic Serving Institutions, history of Hispanic students in Higher Education, etc.). Eligible authors of nominated works must be a current member of TACHE.

This year’s winner will be recognized at the annual TACHE state conference, which will be held in Houston, Tx, February 22-25, 2023.

The deadline to submit nominations is December 31st, 2022. Copies of books must be received no later than January 7, 2023 to be considered. Only complete applications will be considered. Nominees must include a 100-200 word abstract of work and include why this work contributes to Chicanx in Higher Education or Chicanx Studies. Author CV’s are also being requested as part of the submission.

sTUDENT TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP (CLOSED)

Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students who do not hold a full time job. Graduate, research, and/or teaching assistants are eligible to apply.


Scholarship recipients will agree to the following:

  • Volunteering for one (1) day at the conference

  • Serving as a session moderator during the conference

  • Sharing a room with another scholarship recipient

  • Attend an orientation prior to the 2023 Conference

GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPs (CLOSED)

The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) invites applications from Texas residents pursuing graduate studies in community college leadership, higher education leadership or other graduate or professional academic program. TACHE will award four $2,000 fellowships. Fellowships will be awarded to students whose emphasis is in community college leadership, higher education leadership studies at the graduate level. Other fellowship awards will also be considered for students whose study emphasis is in university/post-graduate education (various fields) at the graduate level.


Fellowship winners will be notified on or no later than December 7, 2022, and the awards will be presented at the 48th Annual TACHE Conference, February 22-25, 2023 in Houston, Texas at the Hyatt Regency Houston West hotel.


  • Selected awardees will be notified and expected to register and attend the conference. Conference registration fee will be waived for the selected award recipients.

Distinguished University Faculty & Staff (CLOSED)

Call for Proposals for the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education 48th Annual Conference are officially open. This year’s conference theme is Iluminando Nuestro Futuro: Honoring our History and Illuminating the Future of Latinx Intersectionality in Higher Education.


The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education (TACHE) invites nominations/applications for the Distinguished University Faculty Award. The award recognizes superior levels of professionalism and accomplishment in the areas of teaching, research, or service. Any faculty member or administrator may submit a nomination. Individual faculty members may self-nominate.


Distinguished University Faculty Award winner will be notified on or no later than December 7, 2022 and the awards will be presented at the 48th Annual TACHE Conference scheduled for February 22-25, 2023 in Houston, Texas at the Hyatt Regency Houston West. All awardees should be registered for the conference and plan on attending.
