Conference Proposals

The Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education invites you to submit a conference proposal for the 44th annual conference. This year's theme is "Pursuing the Dream: People + Purpose + Passion".

Submissions should be focused but not limited to the following topics: 

  • Student Strand: Sessions Specifically for College Students (All Topics)

  • Academic Success Research and Practice: Exemplary programs and strategies that result in the educational success of students.

  • Advocacy and Policy: Recent developments or key legislation in state or federal policy impacting higher education and advocacy work.

  • Executive Leadership: Professional development and career advancement, Chancellors, Presidents, CEOs, Trustees.

  • Exemplary Practice: Student Learning and Student Success.

  • Social Justice and Inclusion: DREAM Act/Immigration reform, institutional accountability.

  • Pathways to Success: K-12 pipeline to Higher Education (e.g. Financial Aid, Financial Literacy, Scholarships, Grants, Early College, STEAM...)

  • Partnerships that Work: Collaborative Practices in the classroom and beyond.

  • Digital Trends: Social Media and Technology

  • Other: Student Poster Presentation (e.g. A poster presentation is a graphically oriented summary of your research project.)

Session specifications:

  • Conference sessions will be 50 minutes in length.
  • All selected presenters should be registered for the conference. 
  • Selected Presenters are required to register for the conference by no later than Monday, December 31, 2018.
