Letter from our President:

Dear Member and Guest,

Thank you for visiting TACHE.ORG, the website for the Texas Association of Chicanos in Higher Education. TACHE is a statewide network of students, faculty, administrators and institutions of higher education dedicated to improving opportunity and equity in Texas higher education. We are proud to offer this website as a tool to learn more about TACHE and the work of this organization.

In preparation for the upcoming 82nd legislative session, TACHE remains a strong voice in discussions concerning the direction of Texas higher education. Currently TACHistas serve on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Minority Participation Task Force. In this capacity, we can work closely with other state organizations pursuing similar goals in increasing opportunity for underrepresented students. TACHE's involvement with this group propels and protects the voice of our Latino community.

The challenge to you is to learn more about how you fit into the TACHE organization. Learn about the many TACHE Chapters in various locations throughout the state. Your TACHE Regional Representatives welcome your interest. You can locate them through the About Us tab on this page. Enjoy a free copy of our Noticiario available for download on our website. Additionally, plan to join us in Austin, Texas for our 36th Annual TACHE State Conference, January 30th through February 2nd, 2011 at the Crowne Plaza.

In closing, I look forward to serving our TACHE family as the 2010 President.
