Subject: Adult Education and Labor Training Scholarships - IME Becas
Two of the priorities of the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME) are adult education and labor training programs.
To this end, with the support of the University of California, Binational Education Initiative, a Fellowship Program with grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000, to be used in scholarships up to $1,000.00 for low-income Mexican students. The funding covers the registration and/or certification fee of a technical work training course in an educational institution.
Below is a link to the Request for Proposals for Labor Training for Adults 2011-2012 (Fellowship Program), offered by the Institute of Mexicans Abroad(IME-Becas)
Grants ranging from $10,000 to $20,000 will be provided to those institutions whose work plan meets the objectives and guidelines of this RFP,
and that show a solid organizational and follow-up capacity for the project they present.
One example of the organizations that have benefited by these IME Fellowships, is the Community Plaza Chattanooga State Technical College which assists Mexican students who aspire to earn a certificate of learning in trades such as construction, electrical and plumbing.
Please take note that the submission deadline is February 11, 2011.
